The entire townhouse was gutted and reorganized for a creative international couple. But from the outside, you’d never know such a reorganization was accomplished. If you walk down the public alley at the back of the house, you can’t see the new room that’s now the most cherished space in the building.

Lindsay obtained Landmarks and Zoning Commission approvals. She and her team designed the new wood and glass room and organized the house so it is next to the formal Dining Room and the Kitchen. The space is a private garden perch that’s comfortable and contemplative in every season. It’s an informal office and a dining space that seats four. It’s a candidate for the Beacon Hill Garden Club’s Annual Hidden Garden Tour.
